As a result of our continued growth we are looking for a CPA, CA with a minimum of 3 years experience in a Canadian public accounting firm who would like to take the next step in their career. Our firm offers a mix of large and small assurance and non-assurance engagements and a high level of commitment to professional development.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, managing and preparation of client year-end files including audit, review and compilation engagements
- Prepare financial statements and notes
- Prepare corporate and personal tax returns
- Work directly with our owner managed clients providing assistance in all facets of their financial operations
Qualifications:
- A CPA, CA with a minimum 3 years of work experience in a Canadian public accounting firm.
- Passed the CFE
- Strong technical skills
- Knowledge of personal, corporate and trust tax returns
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment
- Experience with and interest in not-for-profit entities
- Must be computer literate with thorough knowledge of Caseware/Caseview, Excel and Taxprep’s personal, corporate and trust return software
We are looking for a new graduate to begin a permanent full time position with a flexible start date. The new hire will assist with the conducting of audits, reviews and notice to reader reports as well as the preparation of financial statements. They will also be involved in the preparation of personal, corporate and trust tax returns as well as T4’s and T5’s.
Candidates must be in a formal accounting program and should have the following qualifications:
- 1. Solid Communication skills (as there will be interaction with partners, staff and clients
- Understanding of the Accounting Cycle and shoe box accounting
- Passion and enthusiasm to work in the accounting industry
- Tax and Accounting Software skills; Preference may be given to those students who have knowledge of Tax Prep tax software and Caseware accounting software.
